WHAT HAPPENS AT A LODGE MEETING?

Freemasonry is structured into local units called Lodges, where members gather for meetings that encompass both administrative activities and ceremonial rituals. During these meetings, Lodges conduct administrative tasks like proposing new members and discussing charitable initiatives, followed by elaborate ceremonies that include the initiation of new members and the installation of Lodge officers, typically spanning three distinct degrees or stages, each marked by its own special ritual, reflecting the organization's emphasis on tradition, moral development, and fellowship. Mother Lodges, which is where a candidate is initiated, are the places where most of the time and career of a Freemason will take place.

Our ceremonies embody three core principles: caring for those less fortunate, self-improvement, and living a meaningful life to be remembered positively. Reflecting Freemasonry's emphasis on friendship and fellowship, meetings often include social gatherings with dining, fostering camaraderie. Beyond these, members engage in community service, fundraising, volunteering, and inclusive events that welcome spouses, partners, and families, strengthening bonds and contributing to societal well-being.

WHAT WE DO

Freemasonry plays a vital role at multiple levels by mobilizing members' time, resources, and volunteer efforts to support numerous charitable causes across local, national, and global communities. With millions of dollars donated weekly, the organization significantly impacts medical research into conditions like cancer, diabetes, and heart disease through Shriners Hospitals for Children, while also funding other services such as:

ASSOCIATED SERVICES

MASONIC FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN

Based upon the National Masonic Model, the Masonic Student Assistance Program (MSAP) had its beginnings in Arizona in 1996. Sessions were held in the peaceful solitude of the beautiful pines of Prescott, Arizona but due to the demand for more training sessions training is now being conducted in local areas. Phoenix and Tucson are currently the main sites. We are working to develop sites in other areas that can support a class of 60 or more attendees. The days are pretty well filled with session activities. All session costs, including trainers and food are paid for by the Arizona Masonic Foundation for Children.

BIKES FOR BOOKS

Bikes 4 Books is a program designed to promote the reading skills and desires to read of lower elementary grade school (Grades 1-4) students. It offers students from the lower elementary grades an opportunity to find, read and report on books they read in an effort to receive a free bicycle from the local Masonic Lodge. This program is in conjunction with and the cooperation of the local schools, teachers and Masons. Contact the Lodge Secretary for additional information on how to join us in this very worthwhile program.
